Daniel Louis Wynn
“Captain Dan”, Daniel Louis Wynn, set sail unexpectedly into the next life on the afternoon of Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 64.
Dan was born in Ogden, Utah on December 27, 1950 to D. Lyle & Lorraine Wynn. Dan attended school in Ogden, starting with Polk Elementary and ending with his graduation from Ogden High. It was at Polk where Dan’s passion for drumming was ignited as a drum major for the school marching band. What started in elementary continued to play an important part in his life as he played for the band “Legacy” while living in Texas and “Eastour Island” in Utah.
How fitting for Dan’s passion to lead him to his sweetheart Pama Tingen, whom he met during his time playing for “Eastour Island” and later married on October 15, 1982. Their family was completed with the arrival of their daughter, Lindsay Shay, who Dan loved dearly (even more than his drums).
Beyond drums, Dan was extremely creative and loved to design all sorts of creatures in his man cave, was an animal lover, and known for a sense of humor that could light up a room with laughter. Dan especially loved boating and fishing at Willard Bay with his family.
Dan chose to align his faith with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of which he was a member.
Dan says goodbye to his wife of 32 years, Pama, Ogden; his daughter, Lindsay (Tyler) Jones, Roy; his grandson, Lou Daniel Jones, and his loving sister Kathryn (Gary) Barclay, St. George; and is reunited with his parents and grandson, Daniel Mark Jones.
Friends and family may visit Aaron’s Mortuary 496 24th St, Ogden, Utah on Thursday April 23, from 6 to 8 PM. Graveside Service will be held Friday April 24, at 2 PM at Ogden City Cemetery.
