Adele Pearse Wheelwright Evans December 12, 1919-December 29, 2013

Adele Pearse Wheelwright Evans, age 94, passed away on December 29, 2013. She was born in Ogden, Utah December 12, 1919, a daughter of Hyrum B. Wheelwright and Ruby Pearse Wheelwright. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College.

On May 24, 1939 she married Jack Evans. The marriage was solemized in the Ogden LDS Temple January 19, 1982. Jack preceded her in death on September 8, 1983. She was a loving mother and grandmother who always sacrificed for her family.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities including Primary and then Relief Society ; she served as president for five years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and her beloved sewing club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She worked at the old St Benedicts Hospital and McKay-Dee Hospital as a unit secretary. She was a Pink Lady for many years.

Surviving are one son and five daughters, Van (Jean) Evans, South Ogden, Utah; Karen (Clyde) Chatland, Fillmore, Utah; Holly (Murray) Hulse, Brigham City, Utah. Julie (Ray) Macom, Willard, Utah; Roxanne (Dan) Marocchi, Ogden, Utah; Becki Weeding, Ogden, Utah; 40 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 11 great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gay Lee Belnap and son, Dennis Scott Evans; parents; 4 brothers and 1 sister; 1 granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2 pm at the Eccles Park Ward, 1029 26th Street, Ogden,Utah. A Viewing will be held Friday evening, from 6-8 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in the Ogden City Cemetery.
