Al Cattelan June 6, 1926- January 29, 2015
Alberto "Papa" Cattelan has returned home to be with his lord on January 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Papa was born and raised in Diamondville, Wyoming the son of John & Mary Cattelan.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably in World War II and was discharged as a sergeant. His platoon was invited to march for President Truman.
On April 24, 1948 he married the love of his life Elaine Mae Vargas in Evanston, Wyoming. They spent 67 years together.
Papa loved to cook, he was a connoisseur of Italian food. He loved to travel in his motorhome with his wife. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to sing, yodel and play the harmonica for his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.
More than anything he loved his wife, kids, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church and served his lord and savior, Jesus Christ his entire life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine and their children Danny (Nancy) of Warren, UT, Angela Reed (Patrick) of North Ogden, Ut and Tina (Zak) Carter of Pleasant View, Utah , 13 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was reunited with family as he entered the gates of heaven by his son Doug, his grandson Nicholas, his brother Ronald, his parents, his sisters Mary and Linda.
Friends and family may gather at a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 2nd from 5-7 p.m. At Aaron's Mortuary 496 24th street in Ogden, Utah.
Funeral services to be held at St. James Catholic Church 495 North Harrison Boulevard in Ogden, Utah On Wednesday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m.
Interment at Ogden City Cemetary.
A luncheon to follow after the graveside services will be at St. James Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Elaine Cattelan.
