Alexander George LaPlant

Alexander George LaPlant passed away July 8, 2010 of congestive heart failure. He was born Feb 1, 1937 on the Indian Reservation in Pierre South Dakota to Beulah Traverse and Edward Parker LaPlant. On May 28, 1966, he married the love of his life, Shanna Mae Devoe LaPlant. He worked for Fife Rock Products for 35 years until his retirement in 1993. Surviving are his children Paul, Mary, and Dan; his grandchildren, Daniel and Dawn Marie LaPlant; Caitlin Short; and Duncan and Connor Prout. He also leaves behind Heavenly, Olivia, Ariana, and Daniel James. He is also survived by his brother Paul LaPlant of San Angelo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and siblings, Wilfred, Whitey, Frances and Susan. Daddy, you are my hero. I will love you forever. Thank you for loving us so much. Special thanks to nurse Heidi, of IHC Hospice and Jason of Aspen Home Care. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 1-5 pm, at the VFW, 907 W. 12th Street, Ogden.
