Allene Calman-Jayne

Allene Ruth Ellington Calman Jayne (85) passed away November 17, 2013 at North Canyon Care Center in Bounitful, UT after suffering from Parkinson's Disease for more than 20 years. Born October 1, 1928 to Waymon and Esper Ward Howton in Glenwood, Arkansas. She was later joined by two brothers and four sisters.

Allene married Alfred Ellington in 1948. In 1952 they moved from Arkansas to the Sacramento, CA area, and several years later had a daughter and son. They divorced after 25 years. She married Arthur Calman, he died in 1988. Married Robert Jayne in 1990, he died in 1999. She retired from McClellan AFB after working for the federal government for 30 years.

Allene was a fun mom and an awesome grandma. She was affectionately called "Pink Grandma" by her six grandchildren (JeNae, Olivia, Derick, Randy, Angela, and Matthew) and eight great-grandchildren.

Allene is survived by daughter, Renee (Rick) McDougall of Layton, UT; son, Wayne Ellington of Layton UT; all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Don (Mary) Howton of Sacramento, CA; sister Charlene (John) Edgerton of Grass Valley, CA; sister Bobbie (Erv) Lankford of Orangevale, CA; sister Jonell Thomas of Auburn, CA;

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

RenAC.e and Wayne kindly thank the staff of Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton, UT where Mom lived for five years. Also, a special thanks to North Canyon Care Center for their tender care of our mother this past year. We want to especially thank the staff of Hospice for Utah, Dr. Gary Holland, and particularly Brett and Allison... Mom adored you!

There will be no funeral. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak, CA.
