Alvera Duran passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, May 14, 2015. She was born on May 16, 1953 to Fred and Bernice Martinez, in Ogden, Utah.
Heaven’s gates have opened to welcome a loving mother, sister and aunt home. Alvera attended Ben Lomond High School; after graduating from High School; she went to West Coast Bible College.
Alvera married Frank Duran; he later passed away. Together they had one son, Rumaldo Duran. She loved to take long walks with her son. Alvera will be missed for her loving care she gave her family and friends. She loved her God Daughter, Amanda Martinez very much.
Alvera is survived by her son, Rumaldo Duran; three brothers, Fily Martinez, Benny Martinez and Louie Martinez; four sisters, Barbara Gallegos, Jackie Ortega, Audrey (Manuel) Miranda and Nancy Gallegos.
Alvera is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters; also a half-brother and half-sister.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 22, 2013 at 11 am at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service at the same location.
Interment at Ogden City Cemetery.
