Amanda Rae Barrett-Bachman

April 6, 1979 — October 16, 2013

Amanda ended her three year battle with breast cancer on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at 7:08 am with her mother by her side. She was the most courageous woman. She was strong and proud, so determined to win the fight with this evil disease.

Amanda was a solitary practitioner, an ordained minister, loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. Her cathedral was the beautiful mountains that surround us. She loved animals, nature, knowledge and her family. Some of her passions were Egyptology , archeology and ancient religions. She was wise beyond her years, an old soul. Amanda was a nurturer. She cared for every stray that crossed her path, human and animal alike. She would feed you and give you a warm place to sleep, offer counsel or just a shoulder to cry on. She was fiercely loyal to her family. You didn't have to be blood to be family.

Amanda grew up in the Salt Lake valley. She came to Pleasant View Utah in 2003 to work as a property manager for Silver King Companies. She blossomed in this little town. She found her job rewarding. It gave her the opportunity to have experiences she never could have otherwise. She continued to say on a regular basis that she would be back to work the next day. She met many people and dogs that are in her heart forever. Thanks to Kieth and Brenda and all of our loving SK family. Their love and support have been without bounds.

Amanda's family wants to thank the most wonderful staff of Dr. Harold M. Johnson with Utah Hematology and Oncology. They were the silver lining of the cancer cloud. Amanda and her family were blessed to know them and the constant, loving and professional care they gave our girl. Dr. Johnson was simply amazing. Thanks to all of you.

Hearts for Hospice gave us the ultimate gift. Amanda died peacefully , surrounded by people who loved her at home. Their constant care, love and support made the most unbearable circumstance bearable. Thank you, Erica,Christina,Brandi, Christie, Jo, Corrine and Grace. Bless all of you.

Our family wishes to express our thanks to everyone for all of your love and prayers and positive, peaceful and powerful thoughts and energy. It truly held us up during a difficult time.

Amanda will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Service to honor her and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street in Ogden, Utah.
