Amber Elizabeth Hansen

December 1, 1980 — June 24, 2014

Amber Elizabeth Newton Hansen returned home to her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2014. She was the daughter of Darren Newton and Karen Buxton. She was born in Whittier, California on December 1, 1980, and grew up in southern California where she was an active member of the Girl Scouts of America. She graduated from Ramona High School before moving to Missouri where she was able to pursue her passion for English and Literature through higher education. Amber loved to travel and toured many places within the United States. She met Steven D. Hansen in Salt Lake City, and they were married on May 5, 2011. Amber was often heard to say, “Steven has been the best thing that has happened to me in my life.” Amber joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2011. Amber had a love for musical theatre. She was talented in music-- playing the piano, trumpet and French horn. She participated in the marching band and color guard while in high school. She loved to read, watch movies, scrapbook, genealogy, and was learning to sew. Amber was known for her contagious laugh and sense of humor. She was loving, giving and accepting of others. She enjoyed serving those around her. Amber was well informed in many areas and passionate about what she believed. Family was very important to her, and she especially adored her nieces and nephews. Amber is survived by her husband, Steven D. Hansen; father, Darren (Stacey) Newton; mother, Karen (Randall) Buxton; and siblings, Melissa (Ric) Mizell, Sarah Buxton, Grant Buxton, Brittany Newton, and Nicole Newton; grandparents, Don (Mary) Newton, Harold (Joann) Ardrey, and Tracey (Donna) Wiebeck. She is also survived by her husband’s family, parents, Randy (Amber) Hansen, siblings, Jeremy (Kristine) Hansen, Jennifer (Michael) Maddock, and Stephanie (Tyler) Daniels. Amber has left behind many loved nieces and nephews and a devoted life-long friend, Annah Weaver. Amber is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Barbara Ardrey and Carol Newton; and uncle, Brian Ardrey. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Aarons Mortuary, 496 24th St, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with family preceding the funeral at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 E 24th Street Ogden, UT 84404 - 801-393-5678 VISA or MC payment can be made by phone - Checks or Cash will need to be paid at Mortuary.
