Anthony (Tony) Jon Matherne

Anthony (Tony) “T-bone” Matherne died unexpectedly in his home on August 15, 2017 in Clearfield, Utah at the age of 60.

Tony is survived by his partner, Janet Tracy; daughter’s, Katie (Steve) Bridges of Las Vegas and Hannah Matherne of Clearfield; sons, John Tracy of Ogden and Brian (Stacy)Tracy of Washington;. Father, Autry Matherne of Louisiana; brother, Lonny (Monica) Matherne of Louisiana, sisters, Kiley (Ken) Cox of Riverdale and Pam Matherne of Manti; and seven grandchildren whom he adored. He is preceded in death by mother, Della Toms (Dixon)  and sister, Julie Matherne.

Tony was born on January 1, 1957 in Ogden, Utah to Della Toms (Dixon) and Autry Matherne. He graduated from Weber High School in 1974 and went on to be a skilled truck driver. He loved his family deeply; lived life to the fullest with an open heart and mind. Music was his passion and he could be found playing guitar and singing at open mic nights with his close friends and family.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for August 21, 2017 at  6:00 p.m. at Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. Dress in your favorite band shirt as Tony would expect that.

His daughter's will officiate the ceremony, and then open the mic to those who wish to tell their story about Tony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tony’s life. In lieu of flowers please  make donations to the Tony Matherne memorial fund at any Bank of America.

There will be a photo for all to sign their condolences, please feel to write your experience with Tony. There will be a celebration of his life after the service. More info will be given at the services.
