ARLENE R. ZABOLOTNEY On February 14, 1928, Ruso, ND, was graced with the birth of Arlene Ruby Boyko. Peacefully 85 years and 6 days later on February 20, 2013 she slipped into her last sleep. Hers is a rest well earned. Growing up as a farm child of the depression, work was crushing and constant. She continued her busy life by beginning a teaching career at 18, and then marrying Paul Zabolotney. They started their farm and a family while she continued with teaching and her education, eventually earning a PhD. Arlene found time for great devotion to her Seventh-day Adventist church. Her heart was in missions. She was involved in several extended volunteer mission projects which took her to Africa, Finland, Russia, Mexico, and various US states. The majority of her education career was in the schools of the Adventist church, her last as principal in the Texas Conference. Upon retiring and moving to Ogden, she spent numberless hours volunteering for Deamude Christian School. Saying "sleep well" to Arlene with sad hearts are children: Arla, Ogden, Terry, Maryland, Desta (Geodaly) NYC: Grandchildren: Ciara, Jeffrey (Shawnee), Daynnell, Noah: Great grandchild, Reno: 2 Sisters and 1 brother: and sweet pups Scruffy and Grizzly. Having slept before her are husband Paul: daughter Lynn: Parents Harry and Mary Boyko: 3 brothers and 1 sister. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 2, at 2 PM at the Ogden SDA Church 2185 Taylor Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Deamude Christian School, Ogden Ut. The family wishes to thank the friends, neighbors, and SDA church family who have been so compassionate during these gray days.
