Audrey Lorene Segriff, 81, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from an inoperable tumor on her lung.
Audrey was born January 7, 1930 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and was married on Jan. 21, 1950 in Toronto, Ontario to John W. Segriff; they had three sons and a daughter, Bill, Jack, Rod, Cindy. Audrey and family came to the United States in Dec. 1964 and became a Naturalized Citizen in 1970 in Anchorage, Alaska and worked for RCA Alascom as a Telex Operator. Audrey was the Telex Communications Operator for RCA Alascom when President Richard Nixon came to greet Japanese Emperor Hirohito in Anchorage, Alaska in 1971.
She retired in 1983 and moved to Williston, Florida with her husband John to start a Thourghbred Horse Breeding Farm. Audrey loved playing golf in her women's leagues and playing golf tournaments with her husband in between working in the Emergency Admissions office at the Williston Nature Coast Hospital.
Audrey moved to Utah in 2001 and lived with her daughter, Cynthia Lee (Cyn) and the two enjoyed the same things along with sailing, camping, golfing and of course bingo.
She was a quick wit with a joke for anyone, and loved doing things for others, her hunting down a great bargain at her bargain stores and garage sales because someone had told her they had a need for something, was what she truly loved, and usually found just the right fit for them.
For the past few weeks Audrey stayed at the Wasatch Care Center where she received great care and consideration and was made comfortable until she passed in her sleep.
Preceded in death by her husband, John W. Segriff, 1999, and her oldest son, Bill E. Segriff, 2009.
Surviving, one sister, Dorothy Thornton of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, of eight brothers and sisters.
We all loved you Mom, we know you always loved all your children no matter how much trouble we were in or how little we had, you always showed us your love. Thanks Mom, your kids, Jack, Rod and Cyn.
