Barbara S Byrne

September 27, 1947 — July 24, 2014

Barbara Swift Byrne passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 24, 2014.  She was born on September 27, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Chester Dean Swift and Carma Jones Swift.

She married James "Tuff" Byrne on January 2, 1964 and they shared 52 years together.

She was a cook for Ogden City Schools for many years where she touched many lives and was loved by many.

She loved her trips to Wendover with "Tuff" and enjoyed being in the mountains with her family and friends and especially her husband and many friends at Eagle's Trailer Park.

She leaves a legacy of children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren whom she loved very much.  She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Jimmy (Nancy) Byrne, Brenda (Chris) Harris, Curtis Byrne and Lucille(Craig) Smith; seven grandchildren, Josh, Jerica, Misti, Randon, Charles, Jaden and CJ; three great-grandchildren,  Izaiah, Jaxson and Tatum and many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by sisters, Charmaine and Shirley and a brother, Eddie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Ada Byrne; sisters, Carol, Nancy, Joanne and Dixie.

The family wishes to thank doctors and staff at Ogden Regional  for the exceptional care given, and  a special thanks to all those who have supported us during this difficult time.

Services  will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11 am at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 North Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made at any America First Credit Union branch (Barbara Byrne Fund).
