Barbara Rhea Grosgebauer

August 6, 1930 — January 8, 2025

Barbara Rhea Grosgebauer passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. She was born in Billings, Montana on August 6, 1930, and she was 94. Barbara grew up in Billings where she married her husband, Roger Grosgebauer in 1952.

They moved to Utah in 1958 because Roger was employed by Thiokol Chemical Corporation. Together they had four children, three sons and one daughter. Barbara dedicated her life to her four children and husband and worked as an administrative assistant for TRW in Ogden, Utah.

Barbara was educated at Northwest Christian College and Phillip's University. She used her education to work for a physician and insurance company, along with her work at TRW.

Barbara and Roger retired in 1990. They spent their retirement traveling and cruising together—Australia and New Zealand were among her favorites they visited. Barbara enjoyed playing the piano, book club, PEO women's group, and playing Bridge. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ogden. But, most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors! She was full of life and had a fun and witty sense of humor!

Barbara is survived by three sons and one daughter: Jon Grosgebauer, Eden; Bryan (Phyllis) Grosgebauer, Ogden; Ted Grosgebauer, Eden; and Tamara (Tom) Callaghan, South Weber. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one sister, Marilyn Wilson of Seattle, Washington.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Gary Holland and staff of A Plus Hospice for providing such compassionate care, and the entire staff and the wonderful caregivers at Hidden Valley Assisted Living Memory Care for making her last year so comfortable. A memorial service celebrating Barbara's life will be announced at a later date. You can view this information at www.aaronsmortuary.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) at Peoutah.org and the Alzheimer's Association Utah Chapter in Salt Lake City at Alz.org.
