Barbara (Bobbie) Gardner Peterson

Barbara (Bobbie) Gardner Peterson, died October 31, 2012 after a long and full life. Pete's "Red Baron" has flown for the last time. Bobbie was born in Provo, Utah, April 13, 1932 to Lenora Phillips Gardner and Lawrence Robert Gardner. Bobbie attended Weber High School, graduating in 1950. She married her best friend Neil B. (Pete) Peterson, April 22, 1955. Together they welcomed and raised their five cherished children into their home in Washington Terrace. She was active in community and church throughout her life. She served with the Jaycee's for many years at Neil's side, helping to build Washington Terrace into a beautiful city. She was active in the LDS church in various callings during her life. She served as Primary and PTA President while her children were young. Later she was a leader in the Young Women's for many years in ward and stake callings, coaching girls softball, basketball, and volleyball. She especially loved serving as Stake Camp Director. Bobbie is survived by her children: Caran (Tim) Graves, SLC, UT; Shana (Frank) Tashiro, Brigham City, UT; Mindy (Mark) Stowers, SLC, UT; Brandt (Teresa) Peterson, Denver, CO; and Robert Peterson, Ogden, UT. She often remarked that grandchildren were the reward that made raising kids worth it all. Her twelve beautiful "bugs" are: Kaylene and Gareth Graves; Jared and Megan Tashiro; Aubrey, Ashley, Amy and Abbey Stowers; Amanda, Jacob and Emily Peterson; Caleb Staves. We would like to thank the entire family for helping care for mom during the past few years. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Pete, parents, and her beloved sister Mary Ella Gardner Woolley. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11 am at the Washington Terrace 6th Ward Chapel, 4760 S 200 E, Washington Terrace, with a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services. A viewing will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. Interment Liberty Cemetery.
