Beatrice Gallegos: Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Our mother was born October 18, 1931, in Park View New Mexico. The first-born child of 16 children to Luis and Theadora Martinez. She had 8 brothers and 7 sisters.
After a long life of living to the fullest, mom passed away August 28, 2023.
Beatrice married the love of her life, Willie (Edioigon) Gallegos. They were married for 72 years.
Mom loved her children, her grandchildren, her sisters and brothers more than anything.
She loved baking and cooking. Long weekend road trips to Las Vegas or Wendover so she could play her Keno and bingo. Watching the San Fransico 49ers and golf, especially her hero Tiger Woods.
She was a member of the Order of the Carmelites.
She loved her vacation to Mexico and going to mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She loved traveling around the United States with her family on vacations and traveling for the Vista Program.
She worked for many years at St Benedict’s Hospital and then for Defense Depot Ogden from where she retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents Luie and Lola; her Brother Arci and Sister Ernie; her granddaughters Tara and Rebekah and grandson Adam.
She is survived by her children: Alex, Lucy (John) Baldi, Rick, Willie, Orlando, Cyndee, Byron, and Parrish ( Laura) Gallegos; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; her sibling: Mary Vigil, Louie Martinez, Larkin Martinez, Ray Martinez (Arleen), Stella Medina, Rosie ( Jim) Myrick, Mike, Julian (Shauna), Christy (George ) Romero, Teresa, Frank, Mario (DeeDee) and Madie.
Mom is survived by numerous cousins, and friends who she loved with her whole heart. She embraced the friends of her children, becoming like a second mother to them. Mom loved all her nieces and nephews.
We want to thank her hospice team from Symbii home health and hospice: Jennifer, her health aides Brenda and Janis; Chaplain Shanna and social worker Michelle. The administration, weekend nurses, and health aides were wonderful.
