Bessie Hill Nelson

Bessie Hill Nelson, 86, of Sunset, Utah died  November 8, 2016 at the Pheasant View Assisted Living in Layton, Utah from complications due to age. She was born in Malad, Idaho  January 10, 1930 to Helen and Thomas Hill. She was the fifth of six children.

She married Victor (Bud) Nelson on  January 10, 1948. They later divorced. She and Bud had four children: Lyle (Kristy) Nelson, Keith (Lanet) Nelson, Bob (Margie) Nelson and Nancy (Gary) Johnson. Bessie has 12 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Mildred Hancock and Edna Eckstrom.

Bessie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions within the Church, including Relief Society President, and in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations. Bessie worked for the United States Forest service from which she retired.

Bessie is well remembered for her kindness and love she showed to all around her. She was thoughtful and considerate of others and put their needs and desires ahead of her own. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 There will be a Visitation held November 12, 2016 from 10 to 11 am at Aaron’s Mortuary,1050 South State Street, Clearfield, Utah .  A graveside service will be that afternoon at 1:30 pm in the Saint John Cemetery located northwest of Malad, Idaho.
