Blanche Bingham 90, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Ogden. She was born June 22, 1919, in Hyde Park, Utah to Percy Y. Bingham and Audrey Ashcroft the oldest of six children.
She grew up in Amalga, Utah and attended schools in Smithfield graduating from North Cache High School in Richmond in 1937. She also attended USAC.
Blanche married Douglas Mitton on August 14, 1941 in the Logan Temple. Together they had four children, Connie (Tom) Johnson, St. Charles, ID.; Douglas C. (Jill) Mitton, Craig P. (Liz) Mitton, both of Pleasant View, and Cathy (Kevin) Miller of Farr West. They made their home in Hyrum, UT. until 1962 when they moved to Pleasant View. Douglas passed away December 22, 2009.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many leadership positions in both her ward and stake. She was a faithful visiting teacher and made many lifelong friends. She also worked in the Ogden Temple with her husband.
Blanche was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had many talents and hobbies that she shared with others including quilting, cooking, and candymaking. She loved to ride horses and was the Cache County President of the Hyrum Civic Club, President of the Hyrum Literary Club, a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers and President of the P.T.A. in both Hyrum and Pleasant View.
Blanche is survived by her four children; one brother Sharon Y. Bingham, Amalga; one sister Rhonda Bodily, Ogden, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, her husband of 68 years and two grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Vista Care Hospice for their tender loving care of mom during this time.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant View 6th Ward, 900 West, Pleasant View Dr. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the North Ogden Lindquist Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. in Ogden, and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
Interment in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory, 1600 Washington Blvd.
