Bruce K. Patterson passed away on March 11, 2025. He was born on June 4,1949, in Ogden, Utah to Lee Ester Patterson and Flora Frances Moran. He married Maria (Tina) Martinez on November 15,1968 and was married for 46 years.
Bruce was raised in Utah where he graduated high school and later moved to San Jose, California where he retired from IBM after working for 30 years as a programmer. He loved computer science and enjoyed building computers. He was an avid gamer who believed he could outplay anyone and enjoyed reading a good book that provoked the mind. In 2008, he authored a book about Creationism and intelligent design titled A Case for Divinity which was published by Outskirts Press, Inc.
He is survived by: his son Troy J. Patterson and his children Makaela, Valentina, Tiana, and Jaidyn Patterson; his son Erik V.L. (Debra) (Amber) and his children Elijah, Malachi, and Laura Patterson, Preston and Gavin Youman; and his daughter Machael Budenbender (Warren) and her children Shaina Hyde and Christopher Budenbender and his great-grandchildren.
His siblings: Susan (Larry) Campbell and her children Kevin, Patrick, Stefani and Andre Dyson; Judie Eaton and her daughter Toni Woodson; and his half-brother Lee Ester Patterson Jr.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his ex-wife Tina, plus many extended family members and friends.
A luncheon celebration will be held on June 7, 2025, time and location to be announced.
