Our beloved father, Carl William Thorstensen passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the age of 81. He was born October 18, 1928 to Roy William and Antoinette Woods Thorstensen, Ogden, Utah.
He attended Ogden High School and Utah State University where he received a BS Degree in Commerce. He served an LDS mission to Mexico, and later joined the Army Reserves where he was stationed in Germany after WWII. He taught Spanish, French, and German at Highland Jr. High School in Ogden and during summers took tour groups to Europe and Mexico.
He had a life long love of traveling , playing chess, and watching sports. He especially loved the Utah Jazz!
Dad is survived by three daughters, Renette Meibos (Ken), Shezelle Perry (Steve), Janae Thorstensen, brother Lowell (Dana), sister-in-law Lucy, two nieces, Shauna, Sheri, and four nephews; Roy, Michael, Ryan, and Scott.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and youngest brother Robert (Bob).
We miss you very much already! Your sense of humor, love of life, tolerance, and the way you always looked for the positive in everyone has taught us so much. Until we meet again as family and friends. We love you!
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Viewings will be held on Thursday, February 11th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday, prior to the funeral from 12:00-12:45 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary - 496-24th St. Ogden, Utah.
Carl will be laid to rest by his parents at Aultorest Cemetery.
