On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, our matriarch, Carmen Sophia Trejo, peacefully fell asleep in Jesus while surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born to Amador and Maxine Rios on June 18, 1955 in Ogden, Utah. She lived and worked there most of her life. She was known for her wry sense of humor and a heart that never had a hesitation to help when asked.
Carmen loved the unlovable, had an ear for the brokenhearted, and, in her generous spirit, went without to make sure her loved ones had everything they needed. Her family and faith were the most important things to her and she would do anything to fight for them.
She now joins her parents, Amador and Maxine Rios; her sister, Mary "Pie" Rivas; her brothers: Amador Rios Jr., Tony Rios, Gumecindo Rios; her daughter, Jesika Lavato; and her granddaughter, Becka Lovato in peaceful rest.
She is survived by her sisters: Verna Cisneros, Linda Rios, Patsy Ceja, Isabelle Labato, Becky Hernandez; her sons: Nickey Lovato, Eddie Murillo, Daniel Trejo; and nine grandchildren.
She also will be missed deeply by her countless "adopted" children and grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11 am with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the Seventh Day Adventist Church , 2185 Taylor Ave, Ogden, Utah. A short graveside service will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by Daniel Trejo for burial expenses.
