Carol Fay Operhal

March 16, 1933 — November 6, 2015

Carol Fay Carter Law Operhal, 82, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully Friday, November 6, 2015.

Carol was born in Ogden on March 16, 1933, to John Furlsbury and Alice Marchant Carter, the youngest of nine children.  She graduated from Weber High School.

On February 12, 1953 she married John (Jack) William Law.  Together they raised six children.  Jack passed away March 15, 1990.  She then married Julian Operhal on March 2, 1991 and helped raise his two sons.

Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in several callings in her younger years.  Carol spent a few years caring for newborns before they were placed in adoptive homes.  She made friends with everyone she met.  Her children were always amused at how many people she “went to school with.”  She always had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around.  She was a fabulous cook.  No one could leave her home without having been fed.  She was an excellent seamstress and loved to read.

Survivors include her husband, Julian; children:  Rick (Allyson) Law, Brent (Susan) Law, Julie (Roger) Brunker, Denise (Mark) Thurston, John (Margo) Law, Kevin Chad Law, Kristian Operhal, and Julian Operhal; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Richard (Grace) Carter; in-laws:  O’Dille Carter, Jim Slaydon and Jerry (Linda) Law; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015, at  11 am at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.  A viewing will be held Wednesday evening,  November 11, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm and from 10 to 1045 am on Thursday prior to the gravewide service at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, UT.
