Carolyn Froerer

March 17, 1925- April 30, 2017

Carolyn Frances McCarty Froerer joined her beloved Lester Shreeve Froerer, Sunday, April 30, 2017. She will be remembered dearly by her four sons and their wives - Kurt and Becky, Gage and Gloria, Michael and Maren, Landell and Deana, her grandchildren  - Christian (Wendy), Meghan (Brad), Lesley (Andrew) Casey, Kelly (Natalie), Ryan (Tonya), Renee, Dan, Logan, Ariel, Beth, Patrick, and her great-grandchildren -  Michael, Whitney, Ellie, Killian, Gaige, Sicilee, McCarty, Mason, and Carson.

Carol was born March 17, 1925, daughter of Frank and Anna Harris McCarty, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She later moved to Ogden, Utah where she met her future husband Lester at a New Year’s Eve Dance. She attended Mills College and USC in California. She studied psychology and taught at Dee Elementary.

Loyal, intelligent and charmingly independent, we will remember Carol as a lifelong learner, lover of animals, and devotee of her family. We will remember her special ability to add beauty to the world - whether through a well-tended rose garden, a thoughtfully chosen gift, or a graciously hosted get-together.

Grandma Carol was a woman ahead of her time, and an example of the finest traits her generation had to offer. She was elegant and well-spoken, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and an active and involved member of her community. We will miss her deeply, remember her fondly, and know that our lives were better for having had her in them.

At Carol’s request no funeral services will be held.

Interment of ashes at Huntsville Cemetery, May 13, 2017, 2:00 PM.
