Carolyn G Goodin

On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, my mom passed away.  Carolyn Goodin was born Ms. Carolyn Gertrude Malone on  Oct 19, 1934 and was taken in a blink of an eye; as “the LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18.  We should not cry because she is gone; but instead be happy she was here.

Overcoming hardships of being a foster child during the Great Depression, and being a single parent; yet finding the time to know and love each and every friend as well as all her family.  Of course she would tell you her greatest treasure was being called Grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Richard Dempsey and his wife Marta, their daughters Portia and Katelynn; and her sister Elsie Smith.

There will be no viewing at Carolyn’s request; everyone who remembers her is asked to celebrate her life in their own way, raising a glass of their favorite drink in her memory would be quite appropriate.  Instead of flowers, Carolyn would hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in her name.

I ask anyone out there whose mother is not perfect, please call her and say you love her anyway.
