Carolyn Y. Pons, a loving wife, devoted mother and caring friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2022 at McKay-Dee Hospital with family by her side.
Carolyn was born in Oil Trough Arkansas on November 27, 1938 to Thomas Eugene Byrd and Mildred LaNell Collom. She was raised in Brigham City Utah where she had many friends. She was loved by everyone who met her.
Carolyn had many talents such as crafting and she was an excellent cook.
On August 16, 1956 Carolyn married Lee Pons in Elko Nevada. They later had three sons. Carolyn was a superb mother and a wonderful wife. She loved her family unconditionally.
Carolyn enjoyed entertaining guests, traveling when possible and attending Jazz basketball games with her middle son. She was a big John Stockton fan. She loved country music. Carolyn was especially fond of Charley Pride, Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents Thomas Eugene and Mildred LaNell and her brother Finis R. Byrd. She is survived by her husband Lee, her sons Jeff, Randy, and Steve (Debbie), her sister Donna (Boyd), six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one nephew and six nieces.
Carolyn’s wishes were to be cremated with no services of any kind to follow; however, a celebration of life will be held in the spring.
