Charles L. Ropelato

February 1, 1927 – April 14, 2017

Charles was a devoted family man and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Born and raised in West Weber, UT, Chuck spent his life working his second love-the farm. He married his first love, Louise E. Seiber, on October 14th, 1950. Their sixty-seven year union produced four sons, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Charles graduated from Weber High School--Class of '45. He retired from the Ogden Wonder Bread/Hostess plant in 1989 after completing thirty-four years of service as their Regional Maintenance Engineer. However, as a farmer, Chuck never officially retired. He continued to work the farm and all manner of handy-man projects. Neighbors and friends knew they could count on Chuck to fix or help with anything needing repair.

Charles is survived by: his loving wife, Louise; his children: Rick (Sandy), Kerry (Tam), and Randy (Gloria); and his siblings: Anna Alfonsi and Mario (Mutt) Ropelato. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Balbina; his brothers: Frankie and Danny; and his son, Steve.

Charles was a devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A viewing will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Aaron's Mortuary, 469 24th St., with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 West, West Haven. From St. Mary’s Catholic Church the internment services will commence upon completion of church services via a procession passing by the Ropelato farm in West Weber and ending at the West Weber Cemetery located at 4600 W. 1000 N., West Weber. Following internment services at the West Weber Cemetery a luncheon will be held at the West Weber LDS Recreational Center located at 4100 W. 900 South, West Weber.
