Cheryl Lee Aldrich

May 9, 1951 — March 5, 2018

Cheryl (Sherry) Staker Aldrich,  loving mother, daughter, and sister  died March 5, 2018 after a long illness.

Sherry was born on May 9, 1951, in Ogden Utah the daughter of Dale and Donna Staker who preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers Dennis and Drew Staker, and three sons Calvin and Curtis Holmes and Cade Snow.

Sherry graduated from Ogden High and attended Weber State University and the University of Alaska Juneau where she received a degree in Psychology.

Sherry made a career of serving others. Sherry developed programs for disabled adults and served in numerous positions. She was a job coach/trainer, grant writer and Program Director. Hundreds of disabled individuals found meaningful employment because of Sherry’s thoughtful care and dedication, spending her free time supporting their personal growth. She also worked and volunteered at crisis centers, supporting women who suffered from abuse.

Sherry was a spiritual person. She loved to read, spend hours in her garden and loved playing with the dogs or hanging out with the neighborhood kids. She was a friend to everyone. She loved the culture and beauty of Alaska and she enjoyed socializing. Most of all she loved her boys and was happiest doing anything with them. She will be remembered for her kindness, sweet smile and loving, selfless ways.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at the  9th Ward 125 East 5350 South in Washington Terrace.
