CHRISTINA JOAN FLYNN PASSED AWAY FEBRUARY 1, 2015 IN OGDEN, UTAH AT THE GEORGE WHALEN HOME OF NATURAL CAUSES. TINA WAS BORN JULY 26, 1944 TO PAUL AND VALARIE HANSEN IN KENTFEILD, CALIFORNIA.
SHE GRADUATED FROM NOVATO HIGH IN 1962. SHE ATTEND WEBER STATE COLLLEGE AND THE UNIVERITY OF IDAHO MOSCOW PURSUING HER DEGREE IN ELEC ENG SPECIALIZING IN ALTERNATE ENERGY.
SHE SPENT HER CHILDHOOD RIDING THE MARIN HEADLANDS AND ROAMING THE COUTRYSIDES OF MARIN COUNTY ON HER BELOVED HORSE PEPPY. TINA WAS AN EXPERT HORSEWOMAN WINNING A ROOM FULL OF FIRST PLACE TROPHIES WHILE BEING A MEMBER OF THE NOVATO HORSEMANS CLUB. SHE WAS A REMARKABLE ARTIST, WITH A LIVELY DRY WIT; WE WILL MISS LAUGHING WITH HER. SHE LOVED HORSES, LISTENING TO MUSIC AND BULL DOGS; OH HOW SHE LOVED HER BULL DOGS.
IN 1964 SHE MARRIED DAVID WALLACE FLYNN IN RENO, NEVADA AND MOVED TO UTAH IN 1966 WHERE THEY CHOSE TO RAISE THEIR SONS. SHE CARED FOR HER TWO SONS ON HER OWN SINCE LOSING HER HUSBAND IN 1971 AND WAS FEIRCLY PROUD OF THEM BOTH.
SHE WORKED FOR THE IRS FOR TWENTY YEARS AND SERVED AS THE NETU PRESIDENT FROM 1990-1993. DURING HER TENURE THE OGDEN SERVICE CENTER WAS GIVEN THE PRESIDENTâS AWARD FOR QUALITY FOR THEIR JOINT EFFORT FROM MANAGEMENT AND THE UNION ON EMPLOYEE TRAINING. SHE VISITED WITH ORRIN HATCH BEFORE HEADING TO THE WHITE HOUSE TO ACCEPT THE AWARD.
TINA IS SURVIVED BY TWO SONS, BRIAN PAUL FLYNN AND CHRISTOPHER DAVID FLYNN; TWO SISTERS, PAULA ANDERSON OF COTATI, CA AND CAROL (MEL) SJOBLOM OF SEBASTAPOOL, CA; BROTHERS- IN- LAW, MICHAEL (BROOKE) FLYNN OF MT AND JOHN AND (LINDA JO) FLYNN OF OGDEN; SISTER- IN -LAWS, CONNIE (JIM DECEASED) BARRI OF NAPA, CA; JANET FLYNN OF OGDEN AND DEBBIE FLYNN-HARMS (GREG) OF ROY; NUMEROUS NEICES AND NEPHEWS AS WELL AS HER BELOVED BULLIES, MABLE AND ELVIS.
SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND, HER PARENTS AND HER GRANDPARENTS.
THE FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO THANK DR STEPHEN BRUCE AS WELL AS THE STAFF OF THE GEORGE WHALEN HOME, LINDA, SARAH, TYLER TO NAME A VERY FEW. YOU WERE SO KIND, WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR KINDNESS AND COMPASSION.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2015 FROM 2 TO 4 PM AT AARONâS MORTUARY, 496 24TH STREET, OGDEN, UT.
