Clarence Donald Fernelius, 85, passed away in Ogden, Utah on February 13, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 27, 1931, to Clarence Walford and Elizabeth Williams Fernelius. He was the oldest of three children born to Clarence and Elizabeth. He was raised in Uintah, Utah, with four older brothers from Elizabeth’s first marriage. He attended Weber High School. He married Bonnie Jean Hatton and had two children before they were divorced. He then married Sherma Kay Bosgieter on April 10, 1969. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on July 2, 1970. They also had two children together. He also raised one of Bonnie’s son and two of Sherma’s children. All of his children have a great respect for his love, patience, and hard work in raising them.
Don worked at General Mills and at National Distribution Systems as a Quality Control Supervisor. He also worked other miscellaneous jobs to provide for his family. He enjoyed camping, animals, and sports. He refereed different sports for many years. He is member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Don is survived by his wife (Sherma), daughters: Debra (Ray) Underwood, Amber (Randy) Hansen, Stacy (Stacy) Richan, step son: Rick (Diane) Lindsey, sons: Donald D. Fernelius, William (Alison) Fernelius, and David (Heather) Fernelius, brother: Vincent (LouAnn) Fernelius, sister: Beverly Davis, 16 Grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Roy 5th Ward, 5301 S 2100 W. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Aarons Mortuary, 496 24th Street in Ogden and Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
