Connie Jo Higgs

November 3, 1964 — November 10, 2014

Connie Jo Bridges Higgs, 50, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully after her brave battle with illnesses at her home in Hooper, Utah on November 10, 2014.  Connie was born on November 3, 1964 in Ogden, Utah to Glen and Carol Bridges.  She graduated from Roy High School (barely!!!) and the Cosmetology program at Weber State College.  She worked as a hairstylist for many years.
Connie married Daniel Shaun Higgs on July 10, 1993 at Mesa Falls, Idaho and happily became a mom to Brock Anthony Higgs.  Her miracle baby, Connor Shaun Higgs, was born a year later.  Connie was a devoted mother to her two boys, her daughter in-law, Cami and her granddaughter, Jersi.  She loved spending time with her family doing outdoor activities.  We will always remember how much fun she was to be around, and how much she enjoyed these times with her family.  Connie enjoyed shopping, decorating, crafting, photography, water skiing, and socializing with her many and friends and family members. She was the master storyteller and loved to share her stories with everyone who would listen. There was nothing that brought a smile to her face like her grandbaby Jersi and her boys.  Though she struggled with illness for many years, she maintained her sense of humor and desire to make others happy.
Connie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, currently residing in the Homestead Ward.
Connie is survived by her husband, Shaun;  her sons, Brock (Cami) Higgs and Connor Higgs; and one granddaughter, Jersi Jean Higgs, who is the light of her life!  Other surviving family members include: her mother, Carol Rasmussen Bridges; mother and father in-law, Kay and George Hornbuckle; siblings, Dale (Tami) Bridges, Darla (Dix) Crane, Brenda (Steve) Grange, Becki (Doyle) Diener, Jen Patterson, Lori (Jeff) Lewis, Sue Hornbuckle, Nancy (Dave) Lindquist, and Robyn (Darrell) Shepherd and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyman Glen Bridges, father in-law, Max Higgs, and brother in-law, Michael Burt Higgs.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 11 am  at the Homestead Ward building 5375 South 5900 West, Hooper, Utah.  A Viewing will be held Wednesday evening, November 12, 2014  from 6 to 8 pm and one hour prior to services at the same location.
Connie will be laid to rest at the Hooper City Cemetery.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Kris Merkley and all of the people who have been involved in Connie’s care.  Thanks also to Jyl Tubbs and Michael Shaner for their fundraising efforts.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Connie Bridges Higgs Memorial Account at America First Credit Union would be greatly appreciated.
