Corydon Tomlinson Nokes, 81, passed away on June 7, 2023. He was born to Corydon H and Reva Tomlinson Nokes on July 24, 1941.
He married the love of his life, DeAnn Thacker Nokes on June 24, 1961. DeAnn always said they were so young when they got married that they grew up together, grew old together, and planned to die together. She preceded him in death by five years.
He is survived by their four children: Rob (Debbie) Nokes, David Corydon Nokes (Diana Dredge), Jim (Joale) Nokes and Cory Ann (RyDel) Ungerman; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers-in-law; and their two “pups”, Zoey and Buddy.
Corydon was born on the family farm in Riverton where he spent his younger years. He achieved an electronics certification from Utah Valley Trade Tech, and from there he worked for Thiokol and Hill AFB. He was a skilled finish carpenter, and spent several years installing cabinets. He finally retired as a garage door installer from Crawford Door Sales. He spent his life as a jack of all trades and instilled a strong work ethic in all of his children.
Corydon was a hard working, generous man with his time and skills. He was well known for helping neighbors and relatives with all kinds of garage door and opener problems, as well as carpentry. He loved to tinker in his shop with tractors and other mechanical and electrical devices. Corydon will be remembered as a kind, but gruff man, who loved his family and cared for animals. He will be greatly missed.
