Curtis Alma Dayton
Curtis Alma Dayton, 57, of Ogden, Utah lost the hardest battle he had faced and returned home on April 3,, 2016. He passed away peacefully in the arms of his best friend and wife in their home.
Curtis was born in Ogden Utah October 16, 1958 to Evelyn M Dayton and McKay L Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Robert McKay Dayton and Gregory Dean Dayton. He was a graduate of Ben Lomond High School.
Curtis married the love of his life Gae Dayton August 21 1987; their love for one another grew and so did their family.
Curtis had many hobbies he was part of Weber County Sheriff Dive Team Search & Recovery Underwater, where he was able to use his love for scuba. He also followed his passion for scuba as a dive instructor.
Curtis loved to work on cars and pursued that as his career, he could fix anything.
Curtis and a few friends got together to form N.U.P.A where his passion for prospecting grew. He loved to share his knowledge and passion with everyone. Curtis loved camping/prospecting and often for most Summers would travel to California's Rich Bar where he had his second home and family. He would let anyone tag along who was willing to get a little dirt under their fingers and eat mystery pancakes.
Curtis was a loving father and husband and often took on many roles, whether it be dad, grandpa, husband, best friend, prom date, lunch date, superman, cheerleader, even hero. Even if you were not his own he was always what you needed him to be when you needed it.
Curtis was a fighter and didn't let life get the best of him. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at a young age, and decided to fight. You could find Curt at Ogden’s Golds Gym playing Racquet ball and working out to keep best of health. Sadly cancer took him from us, he was not able to win the third battle he was faced with, but he put up one hell of a fight.
Curtis is survived by his wife Gae Dayton, three daughters Katie Wolfe (Brody Wolfe), Hollie Jones ( Joshua Jones), Jamie Shurtleff ( Kris Shurtleff); one son Daniel Tobias Buckely and three grandkids;. and many friends who would call him brother, dad, or grandpa.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harold Johnson and his wonderful staff and Hearts for Hospice for all the loving care they gave Curt through his final battle.
Services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the LDS Church located at 300 Gramercy, Ogden, UT. There will be a meet and greet from 11:00 am until 12:10 pm. Memorial services will start at 12:15 pm.
