Curtis A. Schwab began his journey into the next life on March 23, 2015.
Curtis was born to Max Schwab and Agnes Roemisch on November 22, 1932 in Guadalupe County, Texas.
Curtis grew up in New Braunfels, Texas, graduating New Braunfels High School in 1951. He trained as an industrial engineer, and Graduated Draughonâs Business College, San Antonio, TX in 1952, received his BBA at The University of Texas, Austin TX in 1957, and his MS at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN in 1962.
In 1964 while working in St. Joseph, MI, Curtis met Mary Jacke of Escanaba, MI., and they were married in June 1965. She was his friend, his partner, the love of life, and his soul mate. They had four children: David, Charles, Stephen and Catherine. His favorite respite was camping and canoeing with his family.
In addition to serving in Kiwanis, United Way, and his church in several capacities, Curtis enjoyed the time he spent with the Boy Scouts of America-particularly his time as Scoutmaster of Troop 461, and later as co-advisor to Medical Explorer Post 264 which was chartered to St. Benedicts Hospital.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant sister, Carolina.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; his children, David (Leslie Cavanah) Schwab of Sandy, UT, Charles (Linda) Schwab of North Ogden, UT, Stephen (Tami) Schwab of Layton, UT, and Catherine (Jonathan) Black of Rigby, ID; the grandchildren, Sarah and Benjamin Black and Seaton, Aftyn, and Ian Schwab. Also surviving is a sister, Virginia (Larry) Parkin of Homeland, CA, and nieces and nephews.
Curtis bids farewell to his family and friends, until we meet again.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday evening, March 26, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Aaronâs Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral services will be private.
