1944 – 2015

Clair Okelberry, 70, River Heights, Utah, passed May 31, 2015, from complications of Parkinson’s and Diabetes.
Born July 27, 1944, Payson, Utah, to Everett “Dale” Okelberry of Payson and LaRae Wright Severe of Goshen.  Clair was raised on the family sheep/cattle operation in Goshen.  He was an Eagle Scout, Student Body President of Payson High, attended Utah State University, enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served valiantly in Beach Master’s Unit One, 3rd Marine Bat., Vietnam. He was raised in the LDS church, Goshen and later baptized at Holy Trinity Lutheran, Logan, Utah.
Clair began his career as a “yardman” at the Omaha Stockyards where he became General Manager, Omaha Producer’s Livestock; then General Manager, North Salt Lake Producer’s; and retired as President and CEO of MFA Livestock, Marshall, Missouri.
Clair is preceded in death by his parents, survived by his wife of 42 years, Caroline Urban of Omaha; his sons, Christopher (Amanda) of Logan, Richard (Amy) of River Heights, Utah, and Dan (Angie) of Lincoln, Nebraska; his brother Michael (Jyll) of Goshen, and Susan Colyar (Dave) of Spanish Fork; and seven grandchildren he adored.
Although he lived and worked many places, endearing all who came to know him, his soul was in Utah, his heart in Nebraska, and his spirit with his favored Cornhuskers (GO BIG RED).
A Memorial will be held at First Lutheran Church, Papillion, Nebraska, July 11, 2015, 11:00 a.m.; prior to internment in Goshen a Memorial at Goshen Senior Center July 27, 2015, 11:00 a.m.  Memorials can be made in Clair’s name to COPI Children of Peace International, www.childrenofpeace.org, a Vietnam children’s medical mission; and Holy Trinity Lutheran, www.holytrinitylutheranlogan.org.  For condolences visit www.aaronsmortuary.com
