Dale F. Smith, 63, passed away August 10, 2014. He was born February 5, 1951 to Fred and Elizabeth Smith in Ogden, Utah.
Dale married Kathleen Farr in June 1997.
Dale enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, hunting and being in the mountains.
He was a math instructor at the OWATC for 25 years and was in charge of the Math department. He participated in developing methods for math instruction that are used in programs around the state. Prior to teaching, he worked as a general contractor building many homes and cabins in Jackson Hole.
He was a member of the LDS Church and active in the Boys Scouts of America.
Dale is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Sherri (Darren) Sorensen, Zack Smith, Nichole (Jon) Novotny, and Jason (Vanessa) Francom; and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Mickie) Smith and Craig (Hanan) Smith and one sister, Karen (Tom) Garcia.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Paul James Francom.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 11 am with a gathering from 10 to 10:45 am at the River Parkway Ward, 1050 21st St, Ogden, Utah.
Inurnment immediately following at Ogden City Cemetery.
