Our beloved Dallas Amadeo Gallegos was called to glory on August 13, 2013; he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Dallas, the son of Dallas and Lillie Gallegos, was born in Del Norte, Colorado on January 10, 1954. He was raised in Ogden. Dallas proudly served in the U.S. Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal and Navy Unit Commendation; he served on the USS Saratoga. Dallas married Nancy Martinez, they later divorced but remained good friends. He was a laborer most of his life and also worked in the service field. Our Dallas was a hard worker, he was a very giving person who readily shared with others in need, he was a good and devoted friend. He loved to joke around and even in his last days his humor helped get us all through some very difficult moments. Dallas enjoyed playing his poker game, spending time with family and friends and going fishing and camping. He is survived by his children, Michael (Monika) Martinez, Dallas Perez, and Jennifer (Greg) Cottam; seven grandchildren; brothers, Charlie (Leslie) Gallegos, Frank (Susie) Gallegos; sisters, Sally (Jose) Jaramillo, Margie Gomez, Connie (Juan) Florez, AnnaJane (Charles) Arroyo, Yvonne Devlin, and sister in law Anna Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Edward; brother, Arthur Gallegos; sisters, Ruby Mata and Vicentita Perez; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special Thanks to Bonnie, RN, Applegate Hospice; Michael Reith, SW, the doctors and staff of the Third Floor and the ER at McKay Dee Hospital.
