Daniel Thurston Carter, 27 died Saturday Morning, June 7, 2014 at his place of residence in Layton Utah. He was born October 2, 1986 in Henderson, Nevada to Philo Vinson Carter and Camille Dee Carter. Daniel spent his early years in Las Vegas and then Pahrump Nevada. He enjoyed baseball, scouts and school. He was known during this time for his academic achievements and received recognition for these achievements. Later Daniel moved with his family to Payson Utah and spent most of his remaining years in various locations in Utah and Idaho. During his early years he spent time backpacking and camping with his grandmother, cousins and siblings. With his mother's help he achieved the highest award in the Cub Scout program, Arrow of Light. He was always happiest when around family. He was a loving son especially to his mother, with whom he has maintained daily contact throughout his life. His brothers and sisters were also a very important part of his life. His apple pies were an important part of family gatherings. While in Idaho he picked up Abbey, a Labrador mix, from the animal shelter. She is a very intelligent dog who been a faithful friend to Daniel for the past five years. Daniel enjoyed delivering papers for the Idaho Press Tribune with his brothers Gideon and Andrew. He has talent as a call center representative and has always been good at customer service and sales. He has worked for Vacation Connection, Federation of the Blind, Convergys, and Teleperformance. During the final months of his life Daniel met with great challenges commuting to work in inclement conditions without a car. He has even reported to work with bloody knees and even a broken jaw. Daniel is best known for his kind and gentle ways. He is loved by those who took the time to get to know him for who he was. No one loved him more than his nieces Arianna and Ava. He is survived by his grandmother Tessie; parents Vinson and Camille Carter; siblings Sarah, Vinson III, Gideon, Anna, Andrew and Elisabeth; and nieces Autumn, Arianna and Ava. We extend a special thanks to all who have taken the time to befriend and help our special son in any way.
