Daniel LeRoy Murdock
March 3, 1948 ~ September 29, 2015
Dan was born in Ogden, Utah to Kenneth LeRoy and Vera Bowden Murdock. He attended Ogden City schools where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. He left high school early and joined the USMC where he served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a Staff Sgt. at the time of the discharge.
Dan met his first wife, Cheryl Burch, in California where they married and his first son, Michael Kleinfelder, was born. They later divorced. He married Donna Anderson in Ogden, and four more boys were born; Cody, Ted, Ken and Landon. After their divorce Dan married Gaylene Bingham, and they moved to Ohio to be near his four sons. They later divorced. His last wife was Lola Sujihara who remained with him until his passing.
Dan had been employed at HAFB and transferred to Wright Patterson AFB where he worked in Joint Logistics Command. He was diagnosed with MS during that time.
After his medical retirement Dan moved to Ogden where he kept busy remodeling the Murdock cabin. He maintained an immaculate yard and grew beautiful flowers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and water skiing. He loved to watch his sons play high school sports, and later in life he enjoyed watching Ohio football on TV with them. Dan and Lola enjoyed several winters in Arizona. He loved the sun. Dan loved his mother, and she loved him unconditionally. He spent several years in nursing facilities. The George Wahlen Veterans Home was his favorite.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, LaDean and brother-in-law, Richard Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, five sons and four sisters; Janet McCall (Gene), Darlene Fuhriman (Jared), Kenny Taylor, Sharon Lewis (Roland);, brother-in-law, Clark Reed;, mother-in-law, Hanae Affleck; stepson, Camron Falker; brother-in-law, Dave (Micki) Elmer; sister-in-law, Gina Elme;r, nine grandchildren and one stepgrandson.
The family wishes to thank the many nurses, aids, volunteers and Intermountain Hospice.
