Daniel Fred Schaefer

Daniel Fred Schaefer age 64 passed away peacefully at his home on December 1, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born on May 7, 1955 to Lavonne and William Schaefer in Spokane Washington.

He moved to Ogden, Utah with the love of his life, Annie, in 2007. He worked for Wadman Corporation for many years and claimed it was the best job he had ever had in his life. He loved working for them. It was a sad day when he could no longer work. Danny was an amazing woodworker and has passed his love of woodworking on to his grandson Hunter. We all have some piece of furniture in our homes that he has made over the years. He loved building and making things with his hands, and I would not put it past him to be able to make anything.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother, some very close friends, a few dogs, a cat, and Annie.

He is survived by one brother, three sisters, and his dad who all live in Washington, two stepchildren, five grandchildren, and his dog “Babie” who all live in Utah.

Special thanks to the hospice nurses and staff for making this transition peaceful and educational for us.

Another special thanks to his friend LeRoy, thank you for taking care of Babie and giving her a forever home when he could no longer care for her. I know you will love her as much as he did.

And to Hunter, Riley, and Gillian I know how much grandpa loved spending time with you. He appreciated everything you guys did for him. You guys ran errands for him, did his shopping, and cleaned his house for him. It really meant a lot to him.

And from the kids you inadvertently inherited when you decided to shack up with our mom. We love you and will miss you more than you know. 

There will be a celebration of life for Danny on Saturday December 14, 2019 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  at the Meetinghouse located  at 236 Iowa Ave in Ogden, Utah
