Darlene Marie Zucol Harris

July 7, 1935 — February 9, 2017

Darlene Marie Zucol Harris, our beautiful, loving mom, grandma and great grandma passed peacefully from this life on February 9, 2017. She was born July 7, 1935 in Ogden Utah to Basil and Mary Zucol.  She was an only child because grandma and grandpa felt they had achieved perfection and mom often joked that she didn’t want the competition.

She graduated from Ogden High School in 1953. Mom had many jobs but her favorites were at DDO, St. Benedict’s Hospital and the IRS, from where she retired. She made many friends throughout her life and she was a friend to all, often having long conversations with strangers in grocery store parking lots.

Mom was a member of the Catholic Church and the Trentini Italian Club of Ogden. She absolutely loved babies, music, dancing and playing the piano. She also enjoyed ceramics, oil painting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, campfires and Christmas.

She leaves behind three daughters; Chris (Dave) Hansen, Laurie (John) Pierotti, Cindy (Don) Schmitt, seven grandchildren; Rochelle Pfeaster, Daniel Hansen, Angie Pierotti, Jonathon (Cami) Pierotti, Stacy (Travis) Frye, Ashley Lagerquist, Nicole Lagerquist and eight great-grandchildren.

Special thanks, with love, to all of the fabulous care-givers mom had over the last few years. You are remarkable people and certainly made a huge difference in Darlene’s life.  Thank you all so much!

At mom’s request graveside services are set for Wednesday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please hug your mom today.
