Darline Pitcher Post

Darline Pitcher Post passed away peacefully October 21, 2023 at the age of 96.  She was born August 27, 1927 in Cornish, Utah to her parents, John Harvy Pitcher and Rosa Jensen Pitcher Darling.  She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a great-great-grandmother, plus a special friend.

She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved her Father in Heaven very much.  She served an LDS Mission at the temple there in Ogden, Utah after the passing of the love of her life, Jimke Post.  She met him at the White City Ball Room in Ogden, Utah where they  were married February 10, 1950 at the home of Jimke’s parents, Jacob and Elga Post.  They were later married in the Ogden Temple for time and all eternity and then settled at their home in North Ogden until the passing of her husband.  She then moved to Walla Walla, Washington with her daughter, Shauna and son-in-law, Stan Adams.

Darline loved her church ward and had the opportunity to lead the music which she loved so much and enjoyed doing as well as socializing with many members that were around her.  She also loved working at the laundromat that was on 4^th Street and Washington Blvd.  She would clean and repair clothing for many customers and even had the privilege to take care of the Osmond family’s apparel that was in worse shape than others.  She was a great cook and would come up with many recipes for great meals.  She also enjoyed working out in her yard with her flowers.

Darline loved life to the fullest and loved everyone that she came in contact with.  Darlene and her husband enjoyed fishing, dancing, hunting and just spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,

Darline  is survived by her children:  Shauna (Stan Adams), Jimke Kenneth  (Pattie Post), Sherene Dupree; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimke Post; her parents; 1 sister, Volice and 2 brothers, Marcel and Larry.

Darline’s family would like to thank the team from Provident Hospital in Walla, Walla, Washington and Park Manner’s Rehab Center for taking great care of her for the remaining years of her life we got to spend with her.

We also want to give special thanks to Stan and Shauna Adams for caring for her while she lived at their home, and for what Stan has done for Darline by being there for her at all times.

A Visitation where family and friends may gather will be held  prior to services on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 10 to 1045 am with funeral to follow at 11 am at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24^th Street, Ogden, Utah.  Interment will take place at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36^th Street, Ogden, Utah.
