David John Jones

  David John Jones was born March 13, 1954 and was the 5th of 7
children of Robert G. Jones and Donna Creager Jones, of
Morgan, Utah.
  David was raised in Morgan, graduating from Morgan High
School. He then worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years.
He started as a track layer, then brakeman, and then train
engineer. He lived in Morgan Utah, Green River Wyoming, and
Evanston Wyoming.
  David married Marcella Stanbridge in 1984. They were married
until she passed away January 2004. He has one stepdaughter
from Marcella, Shannon.
  David married Debbie Rash in November 2012. She passed
away in December 2013. David was lucky enough to gain
another step daughter Mandy, son-in-law Martin, and 4
beautiful step granddaughters.
  David was a fun loving guy, he loved snowmobiling, 4 wheeling,
hunting, fishing, horses and dogs. He also really enjoyed
betting on football games and the super bowl with his 2 older
sisters. He also loved the lottery in Wyoming.
David loved his nephews and nieces, being the favorite uncle of
many of them. He always had room for those, related or not,
who needed a place to stay.
  About 6 years ago after many health problems, David was
diagnosed with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. David                                                                                                           has spent the past 5 years at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy,
Utah. Thanks to all the kind staff that took care of him there.
After a long 6+ years battling ALS with amazing patience, David
passed away at Ogden Regional Sunday, July 30, 2023 from
complications of ALS. David is survived by his siblings, Mary
Michaud, Robert Jones (Mary), Elizabeth Carter (Harold), and
Linda Welton (Warren), two stepdaughters Shannon and
Mandy, many nephews and nieces, and 4 step granddaughters.
David was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Donna
Jones, his 1st wife Marcella Stanbridge Jones, his 2nd wife Debbie
Rash Jones, and his siblings Lloyd Jones and Barbara Jones
Norton.  
    Friends and family are invited to a celebration of David’s life
Sunday, August 13, 2023. It will be held at 2288 N. Fruitland
Dr., N. Ogden from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
