OGDEN - Deane Moore Kingsford passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the age of 91. He was born November 12, 1925 in Ogden, UT to Arthur D. Kingsford and Frieda Wolf. He was the youngest of five children.

Deane was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High at the age of 17. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a Radioman during WWII in the Asiatic theater, earning several medals. After the war, he spent time in Southern CA and Southern UT, before returning home where he graduated from Weber State University specializing in finish carpentry and auto body repair.

On June 19, 1953, Deane married Georgia Jean Blechert and in 1957 he built their home on Ogden’s east bench where they raised their two sons and spent the rest of their lives.

Deane worked 30 years for Mountain Fuel Supply Co. (Questar), as a Field Engineer, retiring at the age of 55.

Deane enjoyed all forms of motorsports, but his biggest passion was riding, racing, and working on motorcycles. He excelled in dirt bike racing, and in 1969 earned the AMA’s top honors of being the Number 1 racer in the western region. He was a founding member of the Klunker Klub Motorcycle Club which held many annual rides and racing events and was a lifetime member of the Ogden Cycle Association (OCA) where he enjoyed designing and grooming racetracks at Hot Springs Raceway. He also took great pleasure in the happy times spent camping, fishing, and traveling with family and friends.

He is survived by: two sons; Jeffrey (Janice) and Scott (Jill), two granddaughters; Amy (Jake) Collard and Nicole (Dustin) Hawes, and four great grandchildren; Caleb and Jasper, and Kadin and Alexys.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, wife, three brothers; Arthur (Roger), Richard (Dick), and Eugene (Gene), and one sister; Ruth.

The family would like to thank the great people from Canyon Care Hospice and Comfort Keepers whose assistance made it possible for him to remain in the comfort of his home. Special thanks to Randi, Sage, and close friend Marilyn for all the compassion, kindness, and extra special care you provided.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, UT. A viewing will be held at the mortuary on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St, Ogden, UT.
