Dennis L Lidell

Dennis L. Lidell “Salty Dog”, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 15, 2021. He was a loving husband to Verna Hoyt-Lidell, they were married for 32 years. He was a loving, caring, father to his daughter Amber Lidell-Thomas and his son Jonathan Lidell. Dennis also loved his grandchildren Nathanael, Kasondra, Sophia, and Killian. Dennis cared deeply for his two sisters Deborah and Rebecca Lidell and his late brothers Dwight and David Lidell. He also loved his late Mother Helen (Goode) Lidell and Father Samuel Lidell. He cared for his mother-in-law Verna (Cooper) Kelly. Dennis is also survived by an aunt and uncle, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and Dennis’ former wife Miriam Hilton, their daughter Regina Hilton, and their grandchildren.

Dennis was a Navy veteran, he served 22 years and retired December 1989. During those years he did two tours in Vietnam, served at several duty stations, received several medals, ribbons, and awards. He retired as a damage control chief petty officer. “DCC (SW) E-7”. He loved the ocean and being around it.

Dennis will be missed by both family and friends. Services will be held at a later date.
