Diana Lee Parker

October 6, 1932 — August 3, 2016

Diana Lee Parker left us to return, peacefully, to her Heavenly Father on August 3, 2016. She bravely battled  COPD and lung cancer. Even in her last days she kept her quick wit and pleasant demeanor. She was born to Charlie Wood and Emma (Larsen) Wood on October 6th, 1932, in Van Nuys, California.

Diana married twice in her life. From her first marriage they had daughter, Peggy. Her second marriage was to Jerry Parker. Together they had three children: Michael,  Jeri, and  Patrick. Diana was a strong and hard-working woman. She loved her family very much. After the end of her marriage to Jerry,  she went to work for Sanger High School, in the lunchroom for $2.25/hour. At the time of her retirement she was the Food Service Director for the Kingsburg School District which consisted of nine schools.

Diana was known for her quirky sense of humor. It was enjoyed, admired, and at times it surprised those around her. She passed this quality down to her children and grandchildren. She had seven brothers and sisters who she loved spending time with while laughing and teasing one another.

Diana was an active member of the LDS church until she could no longer attend for health reasons. She held many callings and loved to bring her grandchildren to church with her. Her family was her pride and joy. Diana would take them on vacation to the beach, camping, or to Disneyland. It was one of her favorite things to do.

She is survived by sister, Karen Lawson; brother, Ford Wood (Phyllis); daughter, Peggy Henderson; son, Michael Parker of  Jerome, Idaho; son, Patrick Parker (Leisl)of Jerome, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, (Richard, Michael, Ronald, and Kenneth Wood);  sister, Mryna; daughter, Jeri; and two granddaughters (Amber and Emily Matkin).

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the LDS Church, 1469 W 700 S, Syracuse, Utah. A viewing wil be held from 1:00  to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

The family would like to thank, Evan Green from Hearts for Hospice for taking such great care of Diana and family.
