Donna Marie Vicente

June 22, 1955 — September 11, 2016

Donna Marie Vicente was born June 22, 1955, in Sacramento, California and passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Utah surrounded by her loving family.

Donna began her career as a federal employee 30 years ago at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, California.  When McClellan closed in 1999, she relocated to Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah where she was employed for more than 17 years.  As a supervisor in various shops at Hill AFB, she was known for taking her job very seriously and running a tight ship.  However, her “people” knew they could go to her at any time for any reason and she would try to help them.

Donna possessed many skills; no DIY project was too difficult.  If she didn’t know how to do something, she would “improvise”.  She was a car enthusiast and had a knack for diagnosing car problems which she gained from her grandfather, father and uncles.

She loved dogs and always had two or three at a time which she considered as part of her family.   Her favorite past-times were fishing; gardening, watching and rooting for her two favorite NFL teams, the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers.  Most recently, she had begun sharing her love of the Disney theme parks in California and Florida with her family.  In her earlier years, she owned a motorcycle, enjoyed water skiing and was an avid bowler.

Donna was a good-hearted person, always willing to give a helping hand.  She would go without to make sure you had what you needed.  Her relationships with her family and friends were very important to her.  She will be remembered and deeply missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Vincent of California.  She is survived by her mother, Elaine Barboza of Massachusetts; partner, Sherry Emmons of Utah; son, Vincent Daniels (Kat) of New Jersey; granddaughters, Alegra (Tony) of Utah, Di Avion of California, and Evelyn Daniels of New Jersey; great-granddaughter, Ayla of Utah; siblings, Roxanne Vincent-Lipkin (Michael), Valerie, Tamyra, Donald and Scott Vincent, all of California; and many relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services and reception will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM in the Hill AFB Chapel and Fellowship Hall, 5711 E Ave, Bldg 475.  Private interment will be on a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sacramento, CA.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in memory of Donna.
