Douglas Craig Henstra

Douglas Craig Henstra, age 64, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 after a long and valiant battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Doug was born in Ogden, Utah on April 14, 1953 to Maxine and Robert J. Henstra.

He married Renee Heckert and they had two children, Travis C. Henstra and Chad D. Henstra. They later divorced.

Doug spent eight years in the Navy and received many awards and commendations for his service. Doug loved camping and fishing and wanted nothing more than to get back on the river.

He is survived by his sons, Travis (Kelly) and Chad; six grandchildren; one sister, Cindy Knox; two brothers, Earl Henstra (Valita) and Brian Henstra (Jane).

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Henstra Jr.; and one granddaughter.

A special thanks to Jane for her countless hours and care given to Doug and to Encompass Hospice for their care.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th St., Ogden, Utah.
