Duane Leon King

Duane Leon King died of lung cancer on Feb 6, 2009 at his sister's home in Roy UT. He was born Dec 22, 1941 in Idaho Falls ID to Leon Robert King and Thora Virginia Wadsworth.

He was raised in Ogden UT and graduated from Ogden High School. He served in the US Army and graduated from the Army Officers Training School.

He married Dianne Gross Mar 27, 1967. They were later divorced.

He had traveled extensively and lived many years in Phoenix and Las Vegas.

He is survived by his sisters Diane (Gary) Empey and Debra Olson, both of Roy; step brothers M. Kraig Alvord of S. Ogden and Jerry Alvord of Texas; and nephews and nieces Jason (Jackie) Empey, Brett Empey, Danielle Bowers, Amberly Budge, and Shiloh Olson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Special thanks are given to the Veterans Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Center and to his Hospice nurse, Robert for their kind and thoughtful care.

At his request, no funeral services will be held, only a private family gathering.

Cremation is under the direction of Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory.
