Ed Barney

Ed Barney returned to his Heavenly Father, surrounded by loved ones on 10/13/2012, in Ogden, Utah, after experiencing a second major stroke within a year. Ed was born January 7, 1949 in Santiago, Chile. He joined the LDS Church and came to America at the age of fourteen. He was later adopted by Elva and Orden Barney of Sandy in 1965. He graduated from Jordan High School and served a mission for the LDS church in Texas.

He graduated from Snow College with a Associates Degree and later received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Utah.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and has served in many capacities over the years. He enjoyed BYU football, Jazz basketball, scouting, and serving others.

He is survived by his four children Robert Barney, Carl (Diana) Barney, Craig Barney, Amanda (Kyle) Barney, and by his four grandchildren Brighton, Jackson, Kerrigton, and Ammon. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11 am at the Granite View Ward, 9880 S 3100 E, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the same location.
