Elaine Susanne Daniels (Arno)

Elaine Susanne Daniels (Arno), a spirited and tenacious woman, passed away on October 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with lung cancer at the age of 84. Elaine’s indomitable spirit and zest for life were evident to everyone who knew her.

Elaine was born in Spring Canyon, Utah on December 30, 1939. She grew up and spent most of her younger years in Price, Utah. Ultimately, she settled in Ogden, Utah with her soulmate Rodney Daniels, beloved husband with whom she spent over fifty years. Together, they created a life filled with joy and an obvious love that was apparent to all who knew them.

Known for her warm heart and outspoken spirit, Elaine embraced life with a generosity that extended to all living things. She adored her dogs and often cared for the neighborhood birds, squirrels, and any strays that crossed her path. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she shared her love freely, embracing everyone who came into her life with open arms.

Elaine’s strength in the face of adversity inspired many, as she faced her illness with grace and determination. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, sharing tales that brought smiles and laughter to those around her. Her home was always a place of comfort and warmth. When she wasn’t with her family, she could be found at The Rusted Spoon—formerly the Stagecoach—or browsing Savers, where she was a familiar face and a joy to everyone she encountered.

Elaine is survived by her loving children: William P. Nielsen, Susan Lynn Nielsen, and Shane R. Daniels; her siblings: Sylvia, Clifford, and David; as well as many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Daniels, and her parents, Earl and Rosella Arno. 

She is remembered by all for her sharp wit, kindness, and unwavering optimism. Elaine’s vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to others will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Respecting her wishes, Elaine has been cremated and her legacy will be celebrated at a later date by close family and friends.
