Elaine Barrow Storey

Heaven gained another angel as Elaine Barrow Storey passed away from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Super Bowl Sunday.

Elaine was born to Albert and Maye Barrow and grew up in West Warren alongside her two sisters, Lynn Stevens and Joyce (Jimmy) Surrage. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Darrell B. Storey, and together they built a beautiful life, raising five children: Darrell (Nancy) Storey, the late Terri Long, Tracie (Danny) Wilson, the late Tami Varney, and Craig (Terri Ferlin) Storey.

Elaine’s greatest joy was her family, and she was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She had a warm and generous heart, always bringing people together—whether through family gatherings, holiday feasts, or simply spending time with those she loved. She took pride in hosting holiday celebrations, preparing everyone’s favorite dishes, and making sure no one left hungry.

She worked as a lunch lady for the Weber School District for 13 years and later spent 20 years with the IRS. Elaine loved both jobs, not just for the work, but for the friendships she made along the way. She cherished shopping trips with Joyce, four-wheeling adventures with family, and her Friday visits with Celeste to get her hair done.

Elaine was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan—though she could have done without the recent excess of Taylor Swift coverage.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell, and her daughters, Terri and Tami.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 5th, at the Farr West LDS Church located at 2123 N 2000 W, Farr West, UT 84404.

 Viewing: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

 Family Prayer: 10:30 AM

 Funeral Service: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by a luncheon.

Elaine’s love and kindness touched so many, and she will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
